We have a free cereal and oatmeal breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Also, try our $1 lattes! Our hostel is designed to encourage socializing and meeting other travelers. We have a large lounge with a piano and guitars, and a library/study room. Our guests also enjoy sitting in either of our two dining areas. We have two kitchens and each one is fully equipped, including 2 stoves and ovens, microwave, 2 refrigerators, 2 sinks and of course lots of pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses and utensils. We also have a laundry room. There are ironing facilities located on each floor. Each bed has its own reading light, electrical outlet and USB charging ports. Each of our lockers have electrical outlets so that you can charge your electronics securely while asleep or away. Our hostel is perfectly situated in the Old City district of downtown Philadelphia, surrounded by the majority of the city’s most popular pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. We’re just 110 feet (33 meters) from Independence National Park and the new Museum of the American Revolution, a couple of blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, a 12-minute walk to South Street, a 25-minute walk to the Italian Market, and a 12-minute walk to the Convention Center. We’re also just a 2-minute walk from the 2nd Street Subway Station, a 6-minute walk from the NYC Megabus stop, and a 12-minute walk from the Chinatown and Greyhound buses. We are consistently ranked among the top 5 hostels in North America on every website. The following is our current score or average on the following websites: Booking.com 8.6/10; Hostelbookers.com 92%; Hostelling International 91%; Hostels.com 94%; Hostelworld.com 93%. We were the 3rd highest rated hostel in America on Hostelworld.com last year! The majority of our guests tell me that of all the cities they have visited on the East Coast of the United States, Philadelphia was their favorite stop. The more popular things in Philadelphia are the Art Museum (which has the steps from the movie “Rocky”, and is free on Sundays), the Eastern State Penitentiary (the world’s first penitentiary which now offers self-guided tours), Macy’s department store (a beautiful building that has the world’s largest organ), South Street (most popular street in Philadelphia and a good place to get a cheesesteak sandwich), the Italian Market, Reading Terminal Market (where the Amish sell their goods), Elfreths Alley (the oldest inhabited street in the US), Independence Hall (where they signed the Declaration of Independence), and of course, the Liberty Bell. As well as everything the city has to offer, Apple Hostels of Philadelphia also has a free Wine and Cheese every Saturday night. Wednesday evenings we have a free pasta dinner served up in our kitchen. On Thursdays we have a free Pub Crawl, with 1 hour of free drinks in our lounge before we head out. Our Ghost Walking Tour is very popular on Friday and Monday nights and is only $2. The other nights of week have free movie nights along with free beer.
